Agness arrived at Kasisi as a little girl. Her mother brought her here along with her brother, Watson, when they were just five years old. The woman returned a year later and took her children with her. Unable to provide for them, however, the family became homeless and were forced to sleep under a tree at the train station. After a while the children would became so malnourished that she would be forced to bring them back to Kasisi, only to be back a while later. This cycle repeated itself a few times until she gave up her parental rights and has not been back since. Agness has settled in at Kasisi. She is very bright and loves school. She has great manners and loves to look after the younger children. She is a dreamer who knows how to get what she wants.
We hope that Christopher’s death, which was an unexpected tragic event for the whole Kasisi, will kick off a chain reaction of good. Because of this, we started the Christopher Sakala Fund. With this fund, we support children being treated on the oncological ward at the hospital in Lusaka.
