Oliver came to Kasisi because his mother is seriously ill and his father died when the boy was one year old. He is terminally ill. When we admitted him to the HOME he did not want to cooperate. He refused to take his medication, not believing that it could change anything. After a few weeks in Kasisi, the boy learned that in this home one LIVES, that no one here will accept his giving up, that he is not alone in his fight against his illness. New friendships and plenty of opportunities and reasons to enjoy life drove out his defiance and put aside the difficult beginnings. The treatment has begun showing results. The boy has gained strength and has gone from being a great football fan to becoming one of Kasisi’s best players.
The metal cots and worn-out mattresses have lulled generations of Kasisi kids to sleep, but are now in desperate need of replacement.
Our dream is to make the babies’ bedrooms look like a truly homely, safe environment that is associated with warmth. Will you help us make this dream a reality?
