He came to Kasisi as an infant just a few months old. His mother had passed away, and the nuns from a mission 300 kilometers away decided to fight for his future and brought him to our home. They knew that here he would receive the care he needed. We made every possible effort to find his father. We managed to locate him, but—despite our requests—he never chose to come and meet his own son.
Although life hasn’t been easy for Gift, at Kasisi he received everything he needed to grow up with hope: a home, a sense of safety, love, and people who are always there for him. Today, Gift is a cheerful, warm-hearted boy whose kindness wins everyone over. He is always helpful and ready to support others.
A school kit includes notebooks, allowing children to study at home. It also includes a pair of shoes, which, if not for Kasisi, they would have to borrow from their siblings. And finally, a delicious, healthy sandwich in the backpack, which gives them the energy they need for their studies. Just like the sandwich their mother would prepare. You can pack one into their backpack today—from right here, from your own home.
