Deep in the subsaharan savanna, 30 km from Lusaka, the capital of Zambia, lies the country‘s largest orphanage run by nuns from the Congregation of Servants of the Immaculately Conceived Virgin Mary of the Polish Old Village. Its needs are enormous – it provides food, medicine, clothing and education for over 200 children. Many of them require medical care, others need emotional support and warmth. At Kasisi, we meet all of their needs.
Kasisi Foundation is based on the principle of crowdfounding – spiritual, emotional and financial. We don’t ask for a lot – instead, we believe that we can achieve great things through the collective power of microdonations. We share what we can with the children of Kasisi and they, in turn, share their joy and gratitude with us.
We support Kasisi through the following projects on our website:
Nobody has it all, but everyone has something they can give
„The best way to conquer evil is by doing good. Don’t let anyone tell you that you cannot make a difference – your support matters more than you think. We’re not asking you to make personal sacrifices to help others, and we don’t expect you to forego a nice meal or a vacation. Instead, we ask that you share what you can. Even better if you’re able to support us on a regular basis – and with a smile on your face!“
the people of the foundation
Kasisi is one big community consisting of resident children, sisters, aunties, but also donors on the other side of the computer screen who make it possible for us to continue our operations. Our community also includes a couple of employees located in our offices in Warsaw who connect donors with those in need. Meet the Foundation’s team.
The mission behind both of Szymon’s foundations is simple – making it as easy as possible for regular people to give back. Sharing is the best type of investment. By giving to others, you get so much back in return.
Most of our work happens behind computer screens in our Warsaw office. From here we coordinate activities, plan projects and budgets and make sure our projects are completed in time.
We all have a lot of different tasks but we complement and support each other in our work.
We value teamwork, professionalism and a pleasant work atmosphere.
Our work is about getting help to the most vulnerable people in the world while making sure our donors‘ money is being spent in the best way possible.
We love meeting the people we help. Maintaining good relationships with them is critical to the projects‘ effectiveness.
Despite the distance between us, we have great relations with our missionaries. We wouldn’t have it any other way – Kasisi is, after all, a place full of love and warmth.
We send a lot of the essential medical equipment (not available in Africa), like physiotherapy devices , from Poland.
When we go to Africa, we face the difficult local reality head on.
We love Kasisi’s children like our own.
