Abram dreams of spending holidays at his mom’s place – she lives far away and can’t visit him as often as she would like due to her disability. Matthew would give up his favorite toys for a handful of chocolates. He imagines that when he grows up and gets a job, he will be able to buy a whole mountain of chocolate to slide down as if on a sled! Anna devours books on biology and nature, but she can’t yet decide whether she would prefer to be a doctor or a biologist. Meanwhile, Daniel dreams of becoming a journalist and working in television – he deeply believes that the world and people are good, and that’s exactly what he would like to show.
Dreams come in all shapes and sizes – some smaller, some bigger – but none of them are too big for us to handle. We’ve already put in 99% of the effort – because the kids understand that success primarily requires their enthusiasm and sometimes even hard work. Nothing will happen on its own. But we’re missing that last 1% – sometimes a bus ticket, sometimes a sandwich for the road, or a new textbook – so that the children of Kasisi can reach for the stars. We know that with your help, we can do it!
The metal cots and worn-out mattresses have lulled generations of Kasisi kids to sleep, but are now in desperate need of replacement.
Our dream is to make the babies’ bedrooms look like a truly homely, safe environment that is associated with warmth. Will you help us make this dream a reality?
