We would like to write to you that everything is great at Kasisi; that the kids are healthy and smiling. However, today we were in tears….
As our thoughts and prayers continue to wander to Andrew’s hospital bed, a message from Sister Mariola came unexpectedly: “Tiny Christabel is undergoing severe chemotherapy.
The little girl came to us in January as a several-day-old baby, after her mother abandoned her. In fact, it was as if she had been born at HOME. It seemed to us that after what she had experienced in her first moments of life, things would already start to fall into place. She finally found herself in a home brimming with love, where everyone welcomed her with a heart ready to love.
Christabel’s first basic medical examination was exemplary. However, as time went on, Sister Mariola noticed a birthmark on Christable. When the spot began to grow almost overnight, we immediately started an in-depth diagnosis. Soon the result was in: lymphoma.
The doctors immediately started treatment. Our baby has already received the first dose of chemotherapy. The next one is on Thursday. There will be a total of six doses. So far, the results are bad.
Today, we need you to stand by Christabel’s bed with us and surround our baby with prayers, good thoughts and also financial support. Without it, it will be difficult for us to finance the treatment, which is very expensive in Zambia.
We know that with you it is possible. That is why we are drying our tears and together with Sister Mariola we are taking action at full speed. Lymphoma can be cured!!! We are very much counting on your support!
The metal cots and worn-out mattresses have lulled generations of Kasisi kids to sleep, but are now in desperate need of replacement.
Our dream is to make the babies’ bedrooms look like a truly homely, safe environment that is associated with warmth. Will you help us make this dream a reality?
