On Saturday, our four-year-old Gabriel returned from the hospital, but that doesn’t mean we can rest on our laurels! The little boy is eager to eat, and we (knowing that a full plate was not a norm for the boy) are teaching him regular meal times and that his plate will always be full – whenever he needs it. Recovery from hunger disease will continue for another year – that’s how long the whole nutrition cycle takes. Only then will the boy achieve a stable increase in weight that will enable him to develop healthily.
In the meantime, we are doing our best to build a cocoon of love and security around Gabriel that he did not experience in his family home. We try to show him anew that adults can be trusted – that we will take care of him and that he will always have someone to whom he can turn with his problems. Will you become a part of the warmth with which we want to surround the little boy?
On this rainy day, we encourage you to buy a bottle of therapeutic milk, featured on Gabriel’s profile.
The metal cots and worn-out mattresses have lulled generations of Kasisi kids to sleep, but are now in desperate need of replacement.
Our dream is to make the babies’ bedrooms look like a truly homely, safe environment that is associated with warmth. Will you help us make this dream a reality?
