When you approach his crib, he immediately smiles. He likes being spoken to. He’s just as aware as any 8-month-old child. Yet, his 2-kg body limits him significantly. He lacks the strength to start lifting himself up like his peers.
Each day is a battle to help Gift gain even a few more decagrams. Unfortunately, this is no small feat. The boy recently suffered another setback, requiring hospitalization once again as his heart raised concerns. Thankfully, he could return HOME after a few days.
Feeding Gift poses a considerable challenge due to his cleft lip and palate. While hospitalized, he received IV fluids, but even that didn’t help much. We are striving for him to reach 6 kg, as only then can he have his first surgery.
Gift has a chance to lead a normal life. The surgery, planned in several stages, aims to fix all his health problems. We hold on to the belief that this unfair battle will soon be just a bad memory.
We ask you to visit our pantry and remember the milk and porridge for Gift. Send him your warmest thoughts as well. Let a wave of love embrace him, giving him the strength to fight. Thanks to your support, the boy has a chance to reach the necessary weight and qualify for surgery. Together, we know we can do it! ♥️
The metal cots and worn-out mattresses have lulled generations of Kasisi kids to sleep, but are now in desperate need of replacement.
Our dream is to make the babies’ bedrooms look like a truly homely, safe environment that is associated with warmth. Will you help us make this dream a reality?
