Kasisi just celebrated freedom in two ways – metaphorically and tongue-in-cheek, as Thabu had just finished a major chapter in her education by earning a degree from Evelyn Hone College, and literally – as the whole House celebrated the anniversary of Zambia’s independence.
And when there is a celebration, there is obviously fun. The water slide does not discriminate according to age; both smaller children and much older children had a lot of fun. Who wouldn’t want to splash around in this hot weather?
Whoever wasn’t tired enough was able to get the rest of their energy out in the bouncy castle. And as everyone knows, energy needs to be replenished!
We would like to persuade you to make a clever swap; will you donate a portion of energy to kids who need endless amounts of it? Donate the equivalent of a coffee towards a bar of chocolate or a plate full of healthy treats, which, since we are talking about freedom today, will free up the deepest reserves of energy in the kids.
The metal cots and worn-out mattresses have lulled generations of Kasisi kids to sleep, but are now in desperate need of replacement.
Our dream is to make the babies’ bedrooms look like a truly homely, safe environment that is associated with warmth. Will you help us make this dream a reality?
