We introduced this little gem to you last week. Immediately after arriving at the Home, we stopped by to meet Mark. We were delighted to see the little one already sipping his evening milk in complete safety.
Mark has been with us since the first days of his life – it’s a bit like being born in our home!
Those first two weeks in the world were certainly not what they should have been for any newborn. His young mum, horribly wronged, must now try to put herself together from the tiny pieces into which evil people have brutally broken her. By bringing Mark to us, she has done the best thing.
Today we whispered in the little one’s ear how much we had been waiting for him! And that from now on he has only two tasks: to drink milk and as soon as possible join the children in the playground who are eagerly waiting for him and… to let himself be loved.
And if one day his mum is able to meet him again – we will greet her as we did when she showed up on Kasisi’s doorstep with a baby: with respect, love and the assurance that we will do everything we can (and what we can’t – too!) to make her son feel that he is the happiest Mark in the world….
And TODAY, why don’t we help Mark with the tasks at hand and welcome him with a powerful dose of baby formula milk, the kind that gets him back on his feet in no time? And if we could also show him what an army of open hearts is waiting for him, then the boy would have no choice but to let himself be loved!!!
The metal cots and worn-out mattresses have lulled generations of Kasisi kids to sleep, but are now in desperate need of replacement.
Our dream is to make the babies’ bedrooms look like a truly homely, safe environment that is associated with warmth. Will you help us make this dream a reality?
