So many years have passed since Banji could hug her mother… That day has just arrived. What’s more – the girl has finally met her older sisters!
Banji’s mother, although she loved her daughter very much, could not manage to take care of her. To this day, she still struggles with mental illness. The girl’s mother needed care herself, so Banji, who was five months old at the time, was transferred into the loving hands of the sisters in Kasisi.
The parents’ trips to Kasisi cost money, but are vitally important. Parents, who are often unable to provide a meal for their child, can’t even afford a one-way ticket. But we know that children need contact with them. They need to feel that their parents remember them and that they are cheering them on at every stop on their journey toward adulthood.
We have encouraged Banji’s mother to visit more often, assuring that we will cover travel expenses.
By supporting Kasisi, you are providing the children with a real, safe home, but also bringing them closer to the home they already know. You can now donate a ticket to Kasisi for a parent whose visit will bring great joy to the child!
The metal cots and worn-out mattresses have lulled generations of Kasisi kids to sleep, but are now in desperate need of replacement.
Our dream is to make the babies’ bedrooms look like a truly homely, safe environment that is associated with warmth. Will you help us make this dream a reality?
