It has been two years since Chris Sakala has left us. Acute leukaemia took him from us just eight days after his diagnosis, but, against all odds, evil did not triumph that day.
What Chris left behind is hope for a better life for other little patients of the oncology unit in Lusaka.
Together with you, we have created the Chris Sakala Fund, thanks to which we are permanently present in a place where suffering is most severe for entire families.
Getting sick in Zambia is not only a huge burden for the little patient, but also for the whole family. Every treatment here is paid for, and even the cheapest chemotherapy, readily available in Poland, is beyond the financial means of most families here. This is not a place where millions are needed. Sometimes life is decided by amounts of a few hundred or a few thousand zlotys, so today we ask you for a symbolic gesture – one virtual candle for Chris, which will kindle the light of hope for those who are still fighting.
We have already helped 116 people by buying them food, medicines, paying for chemotherapy and providing them with dressings. This year we want to give another child a chance. Let’s light a symbolic candle for Chris and give some very real help to the little oncology patients in Lusaka.

Our dream is to make the babies’ bedrooms look like a truly homely, safe environment that is associated with warmth. Will you help us make this dream a reality?
