The sisters laughed at us as we excitedly took sprinkles, icing and spices out of our suitcases for the kids’ cakes, saying it wouldn’t be popular.
Well it was a hit!
Not only did the girls who decorated the cakes have joy, but so did all of the Kasisi residents – there wasn’t a child, auntie or sister who didn’t get a little confectionery masterpiece. And there were requests for more!
A Christmas fundraiser for a one-of-a-kind children’s Christmas dinner at Kasisi is up and running on our homepage. Such a dinner includes a plate full of sweets that the children can only eat once a year. Just the equivalent of one chocolate Santa is enough to make a child’s smile brighten up Christmas. Invite a child to the Christmas table!
The metal cots and worn-out mattresses have lulled generations of Kasisi kids to sleep, but are now in desperate need of replacement.
Our dream is to make the babies’ bedrooms look like a truly homely, safe environment that is associated with warmth. Will you help us make this dream a reality?
