Emmanuel found his way to Kasisi along with his brother, Isaac. The boys are with us because they were abandoned by their parents. First, their mother took off. She said she was going to buy fish in another part of the country and never returned. Their father soon followed suit. He left on the pretense of looking for his wife, and the boys were alone for the next few weeks. The only food they ate was what concerned neighbors were able to give them. Seeing that the situation was not getting any better, the neighbors made a call to social services. It was there that the boys were brought straight to us.
We hope that Christopher’s death, which was an unexpected tragic event for the whole Kasisi, will kick off a chain reaction of good. Because of this, we started the Christopher Sakala Fund. With this fund, we support children being treated on the oncological ward at the hospital in Lusaka.
