JULY 2018
He spent a few months living with his sister Elizabeth and their extended family. The siblings were very happy to return to Kasisi. Esnart is a great dancer.
MAY 2017
The organization that brought Esnart to Kasisi managed to located some of her relatives. An uncle agreed to taking her and her sister under his roof and, following an audit from social services, was approved as their new guardian. Things seemed fine at first. Esnart and Elisabeth were excited about their new home and happily made the 1,000 km journey to live with their uncle and his family. Their hopes of having a family were soon crushed, however. The uncle became bored with his new responsibility and entrusted one of his wives with their care. Sadly, the woman neglected the sisters, leading to them eventually living on the streets. As soon as we found out about their situation, we immediately took them back in. Esnart and Elisabeth are now at Kasisi and will stay here until they come of legal age. Thankfully, their dramatic situation didn't cause any lasting damage - except for the emotional trauma of being homeless. Now that they're back at Kasisi, we will do everything in our power to protect them. We've started legal procedures to prevent their irresponsible relatives for claiming legal guardianship over the sisters. We've learned that situations like this don't always have a happy ending so we never removed the girls' profiles from the Adoptions from the Heart program. We will continue to support and protect them.
DECEMBER 2016
Esnart is still with her family but will be back at Kasisi soon.
JUNE 2015
Esnart and his sister are currently up north visiting family.
