Favour and his older brother Henry came to Kasisi with a sad story filled with pain and neglect. From a very young age, they were deprived of the love and care that should be the foundation of childhood. They never experienced what it feels like to be someone’s entire world, to be truly important to someone. Their biological mother, the woman who gave birth to them, was not ready for that role. Instead of caring for them, she often left the boys alone at home for entire days. During this time, they had to fend for themselves, without access to food or water. They were confined within four walls, exposed to hunger and thirst. Every day was a struggle for survival. When they came to us, they were extremely malnourished. Now, at Kasisi, they can finally breathe a sigh of relief. They are in a place where no one will let them suffer from hunger, thirst, or lack of love. They can finally experience what it means to be part of a true family and to be loved unconditionally.
The metal cots and worn-out mattresses have lulled generations of Kasisi kids to sleep, but are now in desperate need of replacement.
Our dream is to make the babies’ bedrooms look like a truly homely, safe environment that is associated with warmth. Will you help us make this dream a reality?
