Peter came to Kasisi with his four siblings under dramatic circumstances. Their father, an alcoholic and a drug addict, abandoned the family, leaving their mother in extreme poverty. The woman, who had been caring for the children, suddenly found herself without means to support her five kids. Despite the difficult situation, Peter’s mother tries to stay close to her children. She spent every Saturday visiting them at Kasisi, giving them as much love as she could. Staying here became an opportunity for the children to have a better future. It was here that Peter and his sister Gerthrude first began attending school. Both developed a love for learning and enthusiastically approached their school duties. Currently, Peter lives with his mother and siblings. It is a great joy for him to be with his family again. He continues to attend school, and his education is supported by the “Adoptions from the Heart” program. The family still needs support to overcome financial difficulties and provide a stable future for the children.
The metal cots and worn-out mattresses have lulled generations of Kasisi kids to sleep, but are now in desperate need of replacement.
Our dream is to make the babies’ bedrooms look like a truly homely, safe environment that is associated with warmth. Will you help us make this dream a reality?
