Peter is at Kasisi with his four siblings. His father, an alcoholic and drug addict, abandoned the family. Their mother was left without any means to survive and was not able to care for five children on her own. She visits her children every Saturday, however, and makes sure to talk and play with them as much as possible during her visits. The children are very close. Gertrude is protective over her younger siblings and spends all her free time with them. Kasisi gave the children a chance for healthy development. Gertrude and Peter have started attending school here. They love to study.
All is well with Peter. He is an exemplary student. The Jesuit Fathers at the Chikuni school he attends praise him highly. He is in the eighth grade. He lives in a boarding school.
The metal cots and worn-out mattresses have lulled generations of Kasisi kids to sleep, but are now in desperate need of replacement.
Our dream is to make the babies’ bedrooms look like a truly homely, safe environment that is associated with warmth. Will you help us make this dream a reality?
