Shadrick and his twin brother Mishek came to Kasisi under dramatic circumstances. Their mother, suffering from a mental illness, was unable to care for her sons, and their grandmother, despite her best efforts, could not meet the needs of two infants. The boys’ father remained unknown. They came to Kasisi when their health was in a dire state. Prolonged starvation and neglect had left deep scars on their bodies and minds. On April 2, 2022, Shadrick’s brother suddenly passed away due to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. Despite the hardships he has faced in his short life, Shadrick is a boy full of energy and optimism. He loves riding his bike, kicking a ball, and conquering new heights, both literally and figuratively.
The metal cots and worn-out mattresses have lulled generations of Kasisi kids to sleep, but are now in desperate need of replacement.
Our dream is to make the babies’ bedrooms look like a truly homely, safe environment that is associated with warmth. Will you help us make this dream a reality?
