Steven and his sister Dorcas spent their early childhood in another part of Zambia, living in a different care facility. One day, some people visited, expressing a desire to welcome them into their home permanently. For these children, it promised new hope and the possibility of finding love. Unfortunately, that dream quickly faded when the new family could not accept Dorcas and Steven. As a result, they ended up at Kasisi, surrounded by care and support, but also facing yet another major change in their young lives. Initially, it was difficult, another shock to their hearts as they had to adjust to a new reality. But today, when they look back, they have smiles on their faces. Kasisi has become their true home. Finding many new friends and experiencing genuine love through the care of the Sisters has allowed them to discover how much goodness their hearts can hold. Steven is definitely the quieter twin. Both at home and at school, he has earned respect and affection, following a path of learning and development.
The metal cots and worn-out mattresses have lulled generations of Kasisi kids to sleep, but are now in desperate need of replacement.
Our dream is to make the babies’ bedrooms look like a truly homely, safe environment that is associated with warmth. Will you help us make this dream a reality?
