Agnes has set about sorting, sealing and sending, so you can expect messages from your children any day now.
We hope you are looking forward to it as much as our kids, because letters are a huge attraction in Kasisi! There is lots of joy, but also emotion – those children who have received their first ever letter from an adoptive parent often cannot hold back the tears. And neither can we, seeing how much support these letters give them.
Because that’s what Adoptions from the Heart is all about – a genuine relationship with a child, which, of course, helps to fund all the child’s needs, but also provides the kids in Kasisi with emotional support. A letter like this sends the message that somewhere on the other side of the world there is someone who is thinking warmly of them and cheering them on in their daily challenges.
We recently welcomed two children with albinism – Mary and John – into the Home in Kasisi. Because, due to superstitions about their magical properties, they are in mortal danger; we cannot show their faces. You will have to take our word for it that there will be no lovelier smiles within a radius of a few hundred kilometres than those that will appear on their faces when they receive their first letters.
Mary and John don’t yet know what it’s like to hold a delivery full of beautiful, uplifting words in their hands. And these they desperately need – everything is still new and a little scary for them. Could we persuade you to adopt these wonderful two and send them a few letters to get them off to a good start? Our trip to Kasisi is fast approaching and we look forward to receiving your letters!
