When he came to Kasisi, he was just a little boy. Together with his twin sister Barbara, their three other siblings and with their mother, they knocked on our door in 2016. The mother had been abandoned by her husband, a drug addict and alcoholic. She had been caring for the children, but was left without any means to support them. She couldn’t afford to take care of her five children. Every Saturday, however, she visited them, played with them, and talked to them. The sisters at Kasisi, deeply impressed by the bond between the mother and her children, decided to help her get back on her feet so they could be together again. Now, her living and working situation is stable enough for her to take the children home. This is a great joy for Bowas. He continues to attend school, with his education supported by the “Adoptions from the Heart” program.
The metal cots and worn-out mattresses have lulled generations of Kasisi kids to sleep, but are now in desperate need of replacement.
Our dream is to make the babies’ bedrooms look like a truly homely, safe environment that is associated with warmth. Will you help us make this dream a reality?
