Caleb is in Kasisi with his younger siblings Faith and Misheck. The kids’ dad died a few years ago. The mum had nowhere else to go, so she took the kids and, according to local custom, went to seek refuge with her husband’s family. However, she did not receive any support, despite asking for it in several places.
The children dropped out of school. Recently, they and their mother returned to Lusaka. The woman, knowing that she was in a no-win situation, went to the social services to ask for help. The social worker referred the siblings to us.
The metal cots and worn-out mattresses have lulled generations of Kasisi kids to sleep, but are now in desperate need of replacement.
Our dream is to make the babies’ bedrooms look like a truly homely, safe environment that is associated with warmth. Will you help us make this dream a reality?
