Matthew was brought to Kasisi as an infant after his mother died. He is very independent. He likes taking care of the younger children, going for walks, drawing and reading books, all activities that help him develop his imagination. He has a lot of compassion for others – even though he is healthy, he sympathizes with the sick children. He even waits in line for medications with them – while he doesn’t need any himself, he likes to keep his friends company.
The metal cots and worn-out mattresses have lulled generations of Kasisi kids to sleep, but are now in desperate need of replacement.
Our dream is to make the babies’ bedrooms look like a truly homely, safe environment that is associated with warmth. Will you help us make this dream a reality?
